Dayangku celebrates 25 years with Loan Service
We were thrilled to officially honour cherished member of the team, Dayangku on her 25th Anniversary working with the UK Loan Service in Brunei.
Since starting her role in June 1999, she has dedicated her working life to helping hundreds of UK service personnel, their spouses and children to navigate Brunei. Her contribution and dedication to Loan Service has been instrumental in ensuring that personnel successfully transition and are embedded into their new country of residence. Brunei would be a difficult place to navigate without Dayangku.
Dayangku has played a pivotal role in ensuring that everyone is supported, and her unwavering work ethic has not gone unnoticed. She demonstrates a willingness to go above and beyond in every task. Her work has been diverse over the years; she has manned the post office, helped with schoolwork, assisted people with legal issues, spent hours in passport queues, helped with driving tests and collated copious amount of paperwork. She has monitored maintenance issues, painted the playground and aided investigations. She is more than a clerk; she has been a social worker, legal advisor, translator, navigator, sympathetic ally, friend and colleague.

“Dayankgu is the cornerstone of our community, and the Loan Service is very fortunate to still have her after all this time. We are celebrating Loan Service’s 40 years of support to the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, and it is amazing that one person has been through 25 years of that partnership. Her commitment and loyalty to the Loan Service community is very much appreciated. We are incredibly grateful for everything she does for us, and we want her to know that.”
To mark this special occasion, the UK Defence Attaché Cpt. Jon Caple and the Loan Service Community gathered today at a celebratory coffee morning where she was presented with a Certificate in recognition of her 25 years of Service on behalf of the UK High Commissioner.
