Secondary Care
Secondary Care is provided by Brunei Ministry of Health Hospitals, which function as district general hospitals and a review by the UK Defence Medical Services Department has stated that they provide services to a satisfactory level, comparable with similar hospitals in the UK.
If you need to be sent to hospital for Secondary treatment, RBAF will only refer to government facilities at RIPAS, PMMPMHAMPB in Tutong, Seri Suri Begawan in Belait or PIHM inTemburong.
However, It is important to remember that differences may exist between Bruneian Hospitals and the UK clinical guidelines or standards in the delivery of health care. This can be particularly true for Antenatal, Obstetric, Paediatric and Psychiatric conditions.
Tertiary care is considered on a treatment and care basis, which may result in an AeroMed. Only in rare circumstances can LSP or their dependents be returned to the UK for medical treatment following RBAF CMS approval.
