Gyms and Clubs

Service Personnel are entitled to make use of the gyms on RBAF bases at Penanjong, Berakas and Muara. These are very basic and run down so don’t expect much, but they are usable.

Many people choose to join other gyms and clubs, especially those with families.

Popular choices include Peak Performance, Fitness Zone, Titan and The Empire Hotel. You can pay to use these clubs as a member or pay as you go. Many types of classes are available from yoga to functional fitness, however some classes are reserved for members only. You can also book squash, tennis, badminton and basketball courts.

Ladies only gyms within clubs are popular, and ladies only sessions are also available within smaller gyms.

There are plenty of options for gyms all around the city, so whether you love Spin, Zumba, Crossfit, , Boxing or Yoga, there will be one that fits your needs.

The Royal Brunei Yacht Club at Serasa is another club many people join. It is more of a social space with a small pool, a restaurant and boatyard. It does not have a gym. If you want to buy a boat, it is likely you would keep it here.

Gym and Club memberships can vary significantly in price. Sign up for a trial period, get a guided tour or accompany a member for a day before you decide what suits your family.

You might find that ‘pay as you go’ and attending multiple venues for different sports meets your needs better than being tied to one venue. It may also cost significantly less.
