Casualties Overseas

JSP 751 provides full details of casualty reporting procedure (NOTICAS). For those casualties who require Aeromedical Evacuation (AE), the AE signal is considered to be the NOTICAS, and will activate JCCC JSP 751: Joint Casualty and Compassionate Policy and Procedures (mil.uk) .

The patient referral process for AE is detailed in AP3394 (mil.uk) Lft 4-01; early communication is key when considering an AE. Aeromedical Evacuation Control Centre (AECC) contact details are:

By default, all military AE patients will be transported to the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine

(RCDM), whilst dependants may be taken to the closest appropriate NHS facility, to their home
